TET3 (tet oncogene family member 3) is a 1,660 amino acid protein that belongs to the TET family and is expressed in both fetal and adult brain, as well as in muscle, colon and adrenal gland tissue. Existing as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, TET3 may play a role in myeloid malignancies and overall tumor formation and metastasis. The gene encoding TET3 maps to human chromosome 2, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 8% of the human genome.
